Productive Bingo – Draw 5: Work On a Spring Framework Project

I’m a little late on this, but my next draw for Productive Bingo is to work on a fun Spring project! And by Spring, I mean the Java framework, not the season. I was hoping this one would come up because I desperately need to learn it for work. Hopefully this is exactly what I need to get started. A part of me wanted to just pick it from the board without rolling for it because I wanted to work on it so much, but it turned out it was meant to be!

Our very incomplete bingo board as of now.

I have no idea what sort of project I want to work on yet. I was considering converting my personal website to use Spring instead of Flask, but I think I should pick a whole new project and start from scratch instead.

Here are some features I would like the project to have:

  • Have the client send some sort of data to the backend.
  • Have the backend call an API service and utilize the data somehow.
  • Display data back to the client.
  • Have some sort of database that a user may interact with.
  • Have different profiles for each user.
  • User login and authentication with email verification.

Not sure if these ideas are too farfetched. I should really start smaller, but half of my bingo tasks attempts have been incomplete already, so what’s one more? If it gets me excited to start on something, at least it’s better than nothing!
